Beautiful video from Laura Marling. It's focus is upon a man who has waited far too long on making a decision. Whatever he's waiting on has kept him alone and seems to weigh heavy in his thoughts. Watching him prepare, with a quiet determination, to finally set himself free reveals more than any three minute clip should be able to accomplish. It's definitely his day. There is never anyone else around him during the video as we slowly track his progression to liberation from a tiny bathroom, to a room with four walls, to an open sky and then finally to his salvation, the waiting sea. Between the song and the images I really felt like I knew exactly how long and how hard it's been for him waiting to face what he left behind in his metaphorical suitcase and the nervous relief of finally going back to retrieve it.
